I am trying to remove the stock amp from a 2001 Yukon. I have released the black tab on top of the amp but I am still unable to release it from its aluminum holder. Is there something else I must do?

By the way I am doing this as I still have all my radio functions but no sound. I am guessing the amp went dead.

Please give me a heads-up about the amp removal thanks.

yes I am just trying to replace it to regain the radio. I have no interest in upgrading the whole system. Just want to plug and replace.

once you take the clips off and unplug it, it should just pull out, maybe there is a hidden clip? I never removed mine just bypassed it

I will try it again. From what I saw on YouTube it was a pretty easy process. Can't understand what is holding it in there.
