I searched the topics but some things are not clear.

I would like to enter a destination while driving. I have a 2009 Denali XL with OEM NAV/Rear DVD. The disk says it is version 5.0c. I read about the lockpick device but I also heard there was some issues with it. At $250 it seems like an expensive fix especially when a Garmin the same price allows you to enter the destinations while moving. We could care less about playing the DVD on the front screen while moving.

I have bluetooth already and OnStar works. What is the IPOD lockpick? Can't the IPOD just be hooked up to the radio? I thought it shows the categories already.

I understand why GM did this lock but we do click agree every 50 times or so right?

Thanks in advance.

as far as i know, in order to contol your ipod through the radio you need to have a usb connection in the radio. the new terrains come standard with this. Thats prob what the lockpick provides. I don't know for sure though

Lockpick will allow Nav changes while in motion.
iPod Lockpick allows iPod to be controlled by radio.
Two separate devices.

rumor is that if you add a switch to your VSS wire behind the nav system, you can enter address destinations / scroll address book while rolling... then flip the switch back for normal operation... i have not tested this, but hope to when I get the time. reports from other forums state it DOES work for this.

That would be great. What forums did you find this on? Would you mind posting a link?

Can't remember the exact link - try to Bing or Google "Navigation VSS modification" - you'll get some hits.

Before you start cutting wires, I would research it throughly. I heard some people having issues especially with the newer units.

can you be more specific about hearing there are issues with the splice or disconnect. I know a GM A tech, i will see if he heard anything and maybe c if he can do it for me, but would love to research it on here. thanks
