Sorry...but what size is the gas tank on the 4 door trucks rated to be?

I can only get 18 or so gallons in there when the needle is E. I thought I read that it is 29 gallons. Is that reliable information?

30 gallons, most I've put in it is around 28.5 gallons.

I get about 400 miles to a tank around town.

Easy way to find out:

Run it until the tank runs dry and the engine stalls. Get a tow to the nearest stattion and top up:waytogo:

Theses trucks are known for having bad fuel gauges, as well as bad fuel pumps, and if you run it low to see if your gauge is correct and run it out, you risk burning the fuel pump up.

I thought our trucks had 25-gallon tanks... and the suburbans come with either 34 or 42 gallon tanks depending on the model.
