Oil change without jacking car?

I changed the oil for the first time in my recently acquired 01 Tahoe. I do have some ramps but it almost puts it too high! I'm used to smaller cars and when I pulled the Hoe up on the ramps I could barely see into the engine bay (and I'm 6'2"). Next time, I'll use them, but probably just pull up about half way onto them. I use the K&N filters too Padraig I also decided to go with the fairly new Penz Ultra Platinum fully synthetic oil. Reviews and tests I've read have been impressive and it is reasonably priced as well for a top end synthetic.
