oil cooler lines leaking, 99 Yukon, 150,000 miles

My lines have been wet for a few years and now they are starting to drip a bit. I got an oil cooler line removal kit from GM ($100 CDN, adaper and 454 filter) but the wife just bought a new trailer (4500lbs) and I'm thinking an oil cooler would be a good thing to have. FWIW, she only gets Mobil1.

The lines are frozen in the rad and it looks like the rad endcaps are plastic. If I give'r I'm thinking the rad caps are gonna crack and I'm goin' to end up fubared.

I'm wondering if I can cut the lines with a pipe cleaner a few inches from each connection and then push some good hoses onto them with a few hose clamps on each side. Anyone try this? What kind of pressure is inside the oil cooler running when then 5.7 is running?

the oil cooler leak should have been fixed and not cut out.

What year is vehicle?

Are you sure they are quick connect fittings?

My Yukon is a 99. The lines have AL ends (and flex in the middle) and they are threaded into the rad and to the adapter thing on the block that that oil filter screws onto.

yeah you may have to risk a fubar they are threaded in the rad it was the filter block that had the retainers. It is hard to say what pressure becuase I am unable to get a fluid routing diagram but be safe and expect what your max pressure on your oil pressure guage is and with some barbed or ribbed ends on the lines it should clamp well. I personally would just replace the radiator my self if I had to.
