I have a '17 yukon 6.2 with ~173K miles. Im going through a bunch of other maintenance points and will be changing the oil soon. In hopes of not starting another oil brand debate lol I was wondering if there were better options to use with these DOD systems, either brand or weight or if any standard name brand oil in OE weight of 0-20 is fine and its more important to change the oil more frequently?

I do have the Range disabler in there now but it still has ~170K miles before us and Im trying to set it up the best I can to last awhile.

Any DexOS certified oil will be sufficient. I run either Pennzoil Platinum synthetic or Supertech 5w-30 synthetic in my '07, and Amazon 5w-40 Euro oil in my '12 on the advice of the cam manufacturer I bought my cam from, even though the latter is not DexOS certified. Lots of debate on this out there but I would be running 5w-30 in any unmodified DoD engine that calls for 0w-20, especially at higher mileage, but that's just me. Regardless, whatever you're doing is working.

I'm running the 5-w40 Euro in my '12. No cam yet, but it's coming soon. DOD delete. Got the parts on standby.

Every couple of oil changes I would step it up to 5w30-10w40 and throw a quart of marvel mystery oil to keep it cleaned up and get rid of my lifter tap… my engine has close to if not over 400,000 miles
I believed my high mileage engine liked the Mobil 1 or valvoline better then royal purple but my truck has 175k and I run royal purple in it
