Hey guys need help ASAP. My truck 2007 tahoe 5.3 LTZ just gave me the finger. My oil gauge usually stays at 40 but as of yesterday it stays at 80 steady. I just changed the oil because it just hit 0 %. Runs fine but I parked it until I can figure out why the gauge is *******. When I turn the truck off the gauge goes to 0. When I started it this morning it stayed at 40 for 30 sec and pegged out HELP!!!!!

Most likely the sending unit or a ground wire. Get under and see if the oil change guys messed something up. I wouldn’t be worried about too much pressure unless they used the wrong oil.

Looks like it may be the sending unit from what the mechanics say. Oil pressure never drops it just stay pegged at 90. Watched a You tube clip on replacing it and it doesn't seem to be a bad job. Looks like I know what I will be doing tomorrow morning.

If it pegs with key on, engine off, it's the sender. Make sure you use the Delco part or you'll be scraping up your wrists again shortly.
