Cleaned up the area around filter and pan when i changed oil last month. I'm going to clean as much as I can tomorrow, then check with the scope again after a drive.

Cool.

I also wiped mine down. I have a day of driving tomorrow. As soon as I get home, I'll be checking it out.

Lookin forward to your updates.
Have a great night

Cleaned as much as I could, hard to get to where the leak is. I'm guessing the leak it either from that bolt or plug (see pic) or the pan gasket itself.

Replacing the pan gasket looks to be a pain in the a$$, or very $$$$. Prob leave it, not much coming out and I'll prob snug up the pan bolts a bit to see it that helps.

I'm wondering if the pan gasket has been a problem. Have you heard anything about it?

Hmm, I wonder how much of a pain it would be. Is yours AWD? Mine is 2wd and doesn't look too bad, a little tight under there.

I had a long day of driving (6hrs round trip), checked mine out a little while ago, don't see anything, yet.

Pretty labor intensive, u have to disconnect steering rack, bell housing, cross-member, and for me, front diff carrier.

Have you tried at least a re-torque check of all bolts?
Worth a try before spending big dollars.

Had such a problem on my own Tahoe many years ago when it was still relatively new, and it did appear to be coming from one of the seals, forget now which, but with the proper 3/8" Torque Wrench, I got underneath, broke the final torque value into 3rds if I remember, went over the entire Oil Pan, and any other Bolts associated with Filter Brackets, etc, and I never had a problem after that.

As for torque, I'm thinking 18 ft lbs, but might be wrong on this. I followed the proper torque procedures of tightening in a cross-hatch pattern, one side, then the other across from any bolt, never torque in some clockwise fashion, by just simply going around the pan.

Worth a try
