Noticed my oil pressure gauge was pegged out today driving home from work in my 03 Tahoe, 4.8 engine and has about 127K miles. It seems to be running fine, didn't notice any engine problems. Got home and let it sit for 4 hours, then went to see if I could find any issues. With no key inserted, gauge is sitting on 40, put key in and crank and it jumps to 80. Any suggestions on what problem could be? Thanks.

My gauge doesn't go-to zero when the key is removed either, and when you open the door the needle jumps again. It appears to read properly with key on , engine off or on. Been doing that as long as I can remember, I just chalked it up to GM electrical engineering.
