The pressure is dropping. Its clicking and knocking like an SOB too when the pressure drops. If I get it up to speed, the pressure will go back up, but probably still a little low.

I recently changed the oil (about 1000 miles ago) and it started to I changed the oil again. The pressure seemed to get better but didnt really fix the issue.

I do know that a few year ago I started to get this clicking sound that went away after I changed the oil and added some Lucas Oil Stabilizer, only to return a couple thousand miles later.

Are these issues related? Do I need to rebuild my motor or buy a now one? Am I ******?

oil pickup tube o-ring??? I can honestly say that was not on my (short) list of things... with 180k miles, I assume I have worn bearings allowing too much oil to pass and not offer enough back pressure. My second thought (and still seemed unlikely) was that the oil pump is worn out and not pushing enough oil. But this seems very unlikely to me. Its not the filter as I have spent too much money changing the oil with hopes and prayers.

But what is the oil pickup tube o-ring??

The oil pump is in your timing cover...there are 2 things that can cause low pressure.

1) the o-ring/seal between the pickup tube going into the oil pump...or...
2) there is a pressure relief spring that can get stuck that allows all the oil pressure to recirculate in the pump rather than make it to the engine...

Search google for videos...there are a few...

the oil pickup tube is the oring that seals the pickup tube to the pump. very common on these trucks with those miles. i normally do it when i do oil pan gaskets. customers probably never even notices better oil pressure.

Yes. Stop driving. Could end up with a engine rebuild for something more simple. You can also try adding 20-50w oil to it. My Taurus did this and I added some royal purple 20-50w and it went away. Runs like a champ.
