Hi.

When I was driving today, the oil pressure needle was moving up when I accelerated, and then moved back to normal when I let go of the pedal.
It is around 32 deegres (Fahrenheit) now.
So could it be because of the cold weather this is happening? Or could it be the oil pressure sending unit, or gauge stepper motor?

Thanks!

I meant the outside temperature is 32 degrees. :)
The reason I ask this, is because I have never seen the needle moving before. But I could be wrong. Have just had the car since August.

When you first start the truck, you should notice that the oil pressure reads high then settles lower when the truck is warmed up (mine starts @~60, then drops to ~30)
When you accelerate the oil pressure should rise as the RPM's rise.
This is totally normal.
Maybe it wasn't working before?

when my engine was bad i would hit the gas and it would rise then go down and so on and that meant that the crankshaft was worn out and the bearings were bad aswell. it still worked fine but yea im guessing that could be a possability. was it sitting before you bought it?

Beautiful my friend!!! Mine runs great and it does the exact same thing unless it is just being started for the day. Theory of operations my friend.....piston moves tdc and bdc faster the more lube it needs.....

This is normal. I have seen many faulty sensors though. If it stops working its probably the sensor.
