Happy new year! (Almost). Changed the oil pressure sending unit today due to oil leak and cold oil pressure not changing with RPMs. It was a pain to get to without taking off the intake and like others have described, after beating up my hands it was finally done. Starting the car for the first time no problem let it run for about a minute then shut it down. Come back a few minutes later to start it and it fires up then stalls right away. This happened three times total then let it sit for about 5 minutes then starts right up and no problems after.(it did smell like it was running rich for a minute after it finally fired up). Once fired up, using my torque app, I have found that the i/m readiness for the O2 sensor and O2 sensor heater as well as evap system have been reset. I noticed there’s A wire loom running right next to the oil pressure sending unit and I had to be somewhat rough with it to get the socket onto the oil pressure unit to remove it and replace it.

Anyone experienced this before with changing the oil pressure sending unit? Could I have shorted something out while pressing on that wire loom? I did not disconnect the battery for this sensor change and maybe I should have.

02 yuk 180k miles, 5.3L flex, 4x4, only mod is aem dry filter and airaid intake tube. No fault codes, yet. While driving around the o2 sensor readiness set, but the o2 heater and evap is still incomplete.

Thanks for any opinions.

those two items can take a few days depending on how far you drive and drive cycles. some cars the gas tank has to drop level for the evap to become ready.

seems odd they all reset on you. dont think just swapping that sensor could do that.
