New guy. Picked up a 95 yukon three days ago. Love it. Needs some love, but all in all it seems to be in great shape. Picked up my eight year old from school, told him I got a new truck. He said, "oh, is it that old one right there?". Guess I must be getting old, since my eight year old considers my new truck to be old. But that's alright. I like it, and look forward to fixing it up, and having some fun with it. Glad to become part of the community here, and ready to do some forum viewing. Maybe I'll post some pics after I clean it up.

As long as you try to involve him in all of your repairs and mods, it will something he takes with him the rest of his life. It also gives you an idea if he is even interested in cars/trucks. Some kids just aren't, and that's ok too. my 16yo son has no interest in them at all, he doesn't even have his driver's license yet and is in no hurry to get it. I have tried to include him in all aspects, he's just not interested.

To be fair, it's 19 years old lol. I still have a hard time realizing my Yukon is 17 years old.

Welcome to you and have fun on the forum. Even if the son ends up with no interest then at least drive in to his noggin the importance of maintenance and intervals. How to change a tire. Check his own fluids. Safety aspect. You know the drill.

Welcome! My 7 year old son would rather play video games, but my 4 year old daughter wants to be in my back pocket! It's crazy!

Post some pics when you get a chance!!

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yeah, I try to convince him that cars are cool, but he more into the whole video game, and TV watching. And yeah, it's almost 20 years old, but I remember when these things came out! But that's alright, like I said, I love it. I'm an automotive technician by trade. I try to encourage all of the family to do regular maintenance, but of course, nobody listens. Ha ha. But I love working on my own personal vehicles. Another tech at works tells me that I'm the only person he knows that fixes things on my vehicle that aren't broken. But what can I say? I enjoy it. My daughter is the same way. She is only two, but loves to see under the hood of cars, and surprisingly enough, she has rather good taste when she points out cars. Like will get some pics up in a few days. I would hate to show it when it's looking rough
