My Denali came with the standard Bose system vs the factory NAV and I was thinking of having the NAV system installed now. But I guess with the cost of the NAV at around $2K before I even consider installation, it is pretty expensive.

On the other hand, the On-Star Turn by Turn is only an additonal $10/month over the On-Star base pricing. At that rate, it would take 200 months (or 17 years) to break even on the NAV over the On-Star Turn by Turn???

If I consider adding the factory NAV vs the entire cost of On-Star ($29/mo for Safe and Sounds and Turn by Turn) the break-even is 69 months or 5 1/2 years.

Since I would never keep a truck 5 years, I would love to find out if anyone has any issues with T by T from On-Star.

Personally Ive never used t by t because I have the Nav. The only thing I dont like about the Nav is to use the touch screen you have to be at a stop. Wow that is a good thought about the money to install a nav and add the T by T. Have you looked at another type of nav system besides the stock one. If it was me and I had the choice between the 2k nav and the T by T I would go with the T by T. More money for other toys.lol

T by T is a nice system if you don't mind not having a map to look at. I have both the factory system and T by T. I'm more visual, so i use the Nav. If you've used your T by T already u know that it works well and provides the necessary info in the Drivers Information Center (the screen below the guages). T by T can pretty much do everything the Nav can do.

I agree the need to stop to enter destinations is retarded, I've been interested in installing a switch to my vehicle speed sensor to fix this but i havent done it yet.

I only pay $12 a month for Onstar, I have 2 vehicles and have Onstar on both my wife does not use the onstar. I called to cancel it and they said how about if we give you $12 for each so I said yes and kept it on both vehicles.

I had both the T by T and the nav. I got onto my OnStar account today during school to check up on things and noticed I could change my plan online, so I did because I really don't need it.

If you get a Nav, it's definitely worth having a screen to show you the upcoming directions and all. I don't know how the OnStar system works, maybe you should get some reviews and opinions on it to see how well it compares to the system.
