has any one ever put a crate motor in one of these body styles . ive been pondering getting a higher mileage one and put a new 454 crate motor in it and do all the diff and transfer case fluids so we have a good grocery getter with more then 6 seats or would u just rebuild the motor on it any input would be appreciated

I think a 454 is overkill for a grocery getter but that's your call. I would just get one with lower miles and call it good or higher miles and have the motor work done.

It would be much easier rebuilding a 6.0 that will bolt right in. A mild build can easily make 400+ horsepower. And depending how much power you`re looking for you`ll probably want to put a better transmission in because the 4l60e won`t take much more than stock unless you have a very light foot.
