This week i had to do a water pump, hoses, and a new stater. Truck hasn't run since last week. Its been giving me problems starting when it sits so i went ahaed and pulled the upper intake. I could tell by the clean spot that i was leaking fuel. I did the injector upgrade and it still won't start. It does the same thing it did before. It will crank then stop like the timing is way off. I have plenty of fuel and spark. I replaced the crank sensor a few months ago. Pulled the plugs and they were wet so i cleaned them up and put them back. No check engine light and all the injectors are installed correctly. I'm at my wits end.

if you plugs are wet with fuel the you have flooded. Make sure you did not pinch or pull a wire around the pump or thermostat housing. Where did you actually test for spark and can you get a fuel pressure reading?

I used one of the plugs i pulled to check for spark. I don't have my pressure tester with me but i smell fuel and when i hit the schrader valve it sprayed fuel everywhere. I even tried starting fluid with no results. Just waiting for the battery to charge now.

no more starting fluid. You are flooding it more. I was wondering about thew fuel pressure because I was thinking the regulator on the injection spider might have bust dumping fuel in the manifold. The reading would help determine this.

When you start again do this and see if this help. If it still pumping out fuel shut it off before doing mechanical damage from hydraulic lock.

CLEAR FLOOD MODE
If the engine floods, clear the engine by depressing the accelerator pedal down to the floor. The control module then pulses the injector at a 16.5:1 air to fuel ratio. The control module holds this injector rate as long as the throttle stays wide open and the engine is below 600 RPM. If the throttle position becomes less than 65%, the control module returns to the starting mode.

I tried both those ways since the battery charged up. Foot to the floor it just cranks. lift my foot and it sounds like the flywheel wants to rip out.

Flywheel wants to rip out????

3 things needed to start 1. fuel 2. spark 3. compression

plugs are wet so you got fuel

if plugs are wet then you most likely dont have spark. Did you pull the distributor?

Stop and check you fuel pressure before going any further. Maybe leave your plugs out and let the gas evaporate for a while. You may be close to hydraulic lock. But make sure nothing gets in them. If your pressure. Have you tampered with the distributor during this process?

Is there anything else odd that you can think of happening lately?

Can you also look down the throttle body and see if you see fuel puddling in there?

Damn, I would pull off the distributor cap and have someone crank it while watching the rotor spin. If it spins, then stops for moment then continues to spin, there could be a problem with either the timing gears and chain, cam, or distributor gear.

If not, pull the plugs, ground the coil wire to block and crank it a few times to get the fuel out, after removing the fuel pump relay.

Check your oil and see if the dipstick smells like fuel.
