It did take a direct hit to the tow hook. It almost ripped the mount for the transfer case off of the inside frame rail

The force needed to stop a 6000lb vehicle from 30mph to 0mph in less 12” of distance is rather significant.

I’m with Mark, don’t write off getting another SUV quite yet.

Why not? You could probably find one for a decent deal and just swap parts over as time allows.

The problem is that it's going to be damn near impossible to find one with as many options as mine does and with as few miles for as much as me or my family can afford. Keep in mind this already had a rebuilt title and I got it at auction for $2500 with 173k miles on it and the only damage was the passenger doors that I never fixed. This wasn't, however, one of those rebuilt title vehicles that someone just threw together to get it back on the road, someone actually rebuilt this one right.

So get one with less options and more miles. I mean it’s up to you but you’ll be better off financially using your upgrades on another vehicle of yours as opposed to selling them. Buy something with high miles in good shape, they’re cheap and now you should know they last forever, 300-400k easy. Get one with 200-250k miles that’s in decent shape for $2500. I just bought one, drove it for the winter while mine was down, and resold it for the same price, $2500. 04 Z71. Nice truck with an awesome stereo.

That's another plus to me getting another NBS SUV. We've already had the struggle of getting a radio to work properly in one, so it shouldn't be hard to get it to work in another one, right?

On another hand, I guess I'm going to start parting out the Tahoe to help save up some decent amount of money for another car, I have no clue what it's going to be, maybe a 2005-2010 Chrysler 300 with a HEMI. I would absolutely love to have another NBS SUV, but I don't know if that's going to happen

you'll regret getting a Chrysler 300 Hemi or not. Those cars (and any Chrylser product since 2000 and probably earlier for that matter) are huge flaming piles of crap. You'd be much better off getting another NBS SUV or even an OBS and you'd spend less doing it.
