Yeah, for a 2001, this would be an old discussion, but, I just got this truck.
There used to be a Bulletin from GM, regarding deactivating the old analog units, (#08089C). As near as I can tell, this was never performed on my truck.

1. Can I remove the buttons, without causing any hassles?
2. If not, what happens if the buttons get pushed?
3. Are there any potential problems that can arise if the deactivation has not been performed?

I really don't feel like tearing my dash apart, just to disconnect one stupid wire.

Thanks,
EJ

Buttons won't do anything. My onstar is analog and pushing the buttons won't work. Removing the buttons shouldn't have any adverse affect.
