So I just hooked up my kicker amp to my apline dd screen in my denali and all the sudden onstar activates when I press vol up and seek next on my steering wheel. The only thing I disconnected on the wiring harness was the remote wire. Please help!

Well it sounds like you have a crossed wire somewhere. Sometimes feedback causes issues that is why you need to add resistors or diodes to the wires to cancel the feedback. Going through the install to find that wire might take some time and drive you nuts. Are you using the onstar? If not disable it or unplug it and see what happens. I have a 2002 tahoe and the onstar is on the dash not sure if its the same for you and i unplugged it and pushed the wires back in the dash and in its place install a tranny gauge.

But the only wire I cut and connected to was the remote. Otherwise I ran the power off the battery. And my Onstar is in my mirror.

When I say remote I mean the wore that turns on the amp. And the controls worked before my amp install so that piece should already be there?

Are you sure it was the remote wire and not the data wire for the steering wheel controls?

Let me ask you this what does apline dd stand for In your first post? Do you mean alpine double din radio? If im reading your post correctly the only thing you did was replace your amp with a new one? Is that correct and if so did you replace a stock amp or aftermarket amp? The amp in my truck shuts off when onstage goes on and when that happens there is no sound from speakers. It sounds like you are not playing with the correct remote wire. What I would do is disconnect the wire you are talking about and run a temporary 12volt from the fuse box that works off ignition and see if that works. If it does I would recommend tracing the first wire you reconnected and make sure it connects to the blue wire off radio for amp on. Sorry I hope that's not to confusing typing from phone. Basically troubleshoot by replacing the remote wire.

yes I mean double din and all I did was put in another amp, but didnt mess with the old sub or amp that is under the center console. And the wire I connected to off of the rear of the deck is the blue remote wire.
