Our YXL had a cracked dash but they never had any replacements for it. It was as sold with the recall active. Funny thing was our Esky was purchased from a Lexus dealer and they couldn’t find the replacement bag either.

We finally got notice last year the p/s bag was in stock. No cracked dash on the 09 Esky covered in leather. Apprehensive was an understatement about having the dealer ruining it. Fortunately, like everyone said, 15 min job, ez pz, no damage done, still no cracks, knock on wood.

Just got a card in mail about a recall. This from a dealership in a nearby state. Guess they got my info off my state's registrations somehow.
Recall info:
N212328770 FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG TAKATA INFLATOR PRIORITY GROUP 7
Do you guys think this is a scam to get me into the dealership for a sales push?
If it is for real...should I locate a local dealership and expect them to do it (whatever they got to do to the bag ???)
Kinda late for a 2012 vehicle I think...but....better late than never I reckon.
Thanks for any insight
Pete

I got my recall done the week the original notice was published. It's an absolute tragedy that so many people died in Rangers / Civics because owners were too lazy to get the shrapnel filled airbags replaced.

Google says 32 deaths (24 in the U.S), 400 injuries.

Which seems like it might be a smallish number depending on how may are deployed. (number doesn't matter if you're one of them)

4,400 california traffic casualties in 2022.

Wonder how many people were likely saved..(say higher speed crashes over 60mph?)

I've never felt comfortable about these things, and don't really want them. Even though my '74 Buick Limited I had during high school had one! Certainly might save you.. And I'm sure they do lots and lots of testing... I still don't like em.

I had the recall done on both my 10 Suburban and 08 Yukon. Weird thing is I believe on the Burb they actually changed the entire unit including the dash pad but on the Yukon they only changed the inflator cans behind the glove box. Not sure what the correct procedure is supposed to be.
