I did the research and see that the First Gen Highlanders were 2001 to 2007 and the 2005 to 2007 are the best years for relaiability.

Compare that to the Trailblazer's record. If a Highlander or equivalent is in your budget, why even bother with something like a Trailblazer? Yes, there were/are good ones. But your odds are SO much better with a Toyota. They don't have a premium price for nothing.

Soooo, ended up buying the TrailBlazer for $7400. She just could not pass up the no dents, no tears, AWD, 70,212 miles and wanted one more test drive. We drove to my home and ran it up on the ramps. I had my blinding light out and looked all over for any leaks. Everywhere, and I mean everywhere was dry except for one place. There is a splash shield under the front area that has a small square window that is removed for oil filter access and it had orange drops hanging from it. Coolant. I looked up and saw the orange drop hanging from back of the water pump pulley. The price was $7500 till the drop and was now down to $7400. She wanted it and we bought it and I already ordered the new water pump and new thermostat with water outlet housing and new wiper blades because they streaked. The electric fan clutch had been replaced 35k ago. Here are the pics. Look close for the orange dot of coolant.

In Oregon the plates stay on the vehicle and she pays a small fee for that, because they are still current. Those tags stay with the vehicle. If there are personal tags on a vehicle, they can be removed. If that was the case or tags are expired, we have to pay more for new tags to be mailed to us and use a temporary tag that is taped to the back glass, till then.
