Alright, I'm at the point where I'm bored with my current deck. I want to get into a DD with nav and iPod controls on the screen, not very familiar so tell me/show me what you have and what you like and don't like about it. Anyone who's got knowledge on this subject, help me out. I realize they are pricey and I'd like to spend the $$ on the right deck the first time.

Thanks in advance guys.

if u have an iphone go with the new pioneer avic-z110bt. its pretty much made for the iphone. built in bluetooth. nav is good. customizable colors and backgrounds.

i personally like eclipse. i have the avn-726e in my truck. only thing it doesnt do with the iphone is the phone book transfer like the pioneer does. but if u dont have iphone itll probably transfer.

the wife has the pioneer and i have the eclipse. we love both. we have tried others. these two are the ones to go with imo

pioneer avic z2 or z3 both are touch screen, 30g hard drive, ipod compatible and the both are NICE. I had the z2 in my G35 it was the best DD i ever had!

oh and it's perfect for HUGE systems!

Alpine, Kenwood, Eclipse, and Pioneer have nice dd nav units. But if you choose to go with a Pioneer model, choose the Z series rather than the Avic F models. S/N ratio and preamp voltage is low, so there's more background hiss than I like. Also, even with the latest firmware update, it seems to boot up slow everytime you turn it on.

I thought the X series replaced the F series? Firmware 3.0 was supposed to bring the major software feature of the X to the F.

I really don't have an issue with the bootup of my F-series, not even before I updated to 3.0. Do I have to wait a minute to start using the nav? Yeah, but I guess that doesn't bother me - just let the truck warm-up a little more before starting on the journey. :)

I run a Z1 upgraded to a Z3 with a 60g drive in the Denali with XM nav traffic, blutooth and ipod interface. The best features about the Z is the screen size and the navtraffic.

I run the F90bt in my mustang and the ipod interface is second to none, essentially has the touch screen act and work as if your using the ipod itself. Screen is smaller than the Z line, but the user friendliness is awesome. Phone book transfer is simple, MSN direct works very well in this region (chicago burbs). Lots of bells and whistles to keep you occupied.
