I guess I'll be the lone dissenting opinion. I say you paint 'em. I think the current scheme would look a lot better if your tails WEREN'T blacked out. Right now, it's just a column of black that doesn't flow with anything else on the truck. It just stands out like a sore thumb.

The bit of continued paint at the top of the appliqué IS the way the Yukons should have come from the factory (as long as they were going to go with the mostly-black appliqués). But, again, I just think you've got a column of back there that doesn't do much for the truck.

x1,000.000 did not know the roof was black. I like the top white on the applique from the side but not sure from the back with the 3rd painted black but then again if you left applique black it would look the same from the side as it does from the back currently . I vote painted like they are now.

Why not just photoshop some white in the appliqué and see if you prefer the look?

SW CT,
Tough call..I do like the current paint scheme, but the tails just ruin the look from the back. I would paint them white, this way the roof will flow front to back and the tails will look better. If you like the wraparound look, do it to the a-pillar or b-pillar or both...that will change the look of the tahoe drastically and make it totally unique.

Looking at it again...paint the rear appliques white and then either wrap or paint the "B"-pillar and "C"-pillar black.

I hear you guys about the black tails. After getting pulled over again for the tint I hot some stock tails coming Monday and I'll see how that looks first. I really like the side profile with the white and black combo but see what you mean by thebaxk with the 3rd light spoiler.

i've been thinking about what to do with the tail lights. After i get my stock tails on next week, i'm going to sand my tinted leds back down and spray them with a very light tint, that makes the lenses more of a dark red, which i think will contrast much better than black and hopefully won't have the chp bothering me.

Another idea i had was after retinting my tails, i could make a fiberglass cover to go over the tails and then paint them white to match the truck, and tape off the section in the back for the leds to stay visible. That might give the side profile more of a solid look.

Heres a crappy photo edit of what im trying to explain from the side atleast.

You know you could just have the side of the tails smoked white like the pic above and the rest of the tails lightly smoked. That way you won't have to bother with fiberglass and the CHP won't bug you.
If your tails were about the shade of my old G4s or lighter CHP will not bother pulling you over.

Modded, i was thinking about smoking them white, but from what i've read is with white it tends to make the light look pinkish. the g4s have that led strip down that side. That why i was thinking about just making a cover just to see how it looks. fiberglassing a piece is pretty easy, and i have the materials sitting around at home. If i liked that look, then i could always prime that area and the paint it so that no light comes through. But the overall tint i am going to do will be about how yours are or a little lighter.
