Here's how to install an Optima Yellow Top D35 Battery into a 2007 Yukon Denali. See photos, too.

1. Remove curved brace above battery.
2. Remove battery cables.
3. Remove bolted battery brace at bottom of driver's side of battery.
4. Remove battery.
5. Place Dynamat or similar material on Optoma battery at the 3 holding points to keep it from sliding around. The Optima D35 is a little too small for the braces.
6. Place Optima in position.
7. Bolt battery brace back in place.
8. Connect battery cables.
9. Reinstall curved brace above battery.

I had searched the forums and found mixed reviews about using an Optima on these vehicles. Wasn't hard at all, so figured I should post this. Good luck.

What is the benefit of using that battery? Do you need it when you have a basic system, factory hu, factory bose mids, and say an aftermarket 10 or 12 with amp? I just got a new battery but I want to add a sub and don't really want to replace the battery again.

Yellow top are good if your truck has all the options, not necessary thou.
I added a Directed 1500d amp with 15'' Kickers L5 with stock battery and alternator, killed both in a week. So I replace both, SEARS Platinum Battery and the biggest stock alternator you can get. Now my lights don't dim and very little if any voltage drop. I will say, I have not turn my system all the way up. I want the Big 3 and maybe a cap, before I do sumthing like that. If your just looking to add sum 10s or 12s with a 1000 watt RMS amp you would be find with a yellow top. But Platinum Batterys or better to me for mounting uder the hood.

Buy an Optima and you'll likely be replacing the battery again in 2 years or less. They don't perform well or last long since they changed manufacturers about 5 years ago.

 I have had the same Yellow Top in my Yukon for more than 4 years. I have a 2100 watt sound system and two air compressors for my air ride.

Maybe you got the tail end of the good ones? Maybe not 100% of them fail, but on GMFS I've seen more people say theirs failed around 2 years than didn't fail. This isn't an isolated incident, there are multiple threads about it.
