Yukon John, Can you show a link to the parts group for this? I assume, its a second battery box, wire harness, a different alternator and possibly a different regulator (maybe).... From what I can see, the PPv kit has one battery for the car stuff and the second battery is solely for all the extra ppv lights and laptop and police radio circuits etc. Trying to figure how that would work for us? I mean the tray would work, and the better alternator from the ppv, but we would have to run an aftermarket wire harness etc...

As for the OP...Optimas are now made with questionable, re: hit or miss, quality control.

I used to be a big fan and user...and then they began to just up and die one day, usually only a few months into their "warranty". If you google it you will find tons of threads of people with all the different types of optimas having troubles.

I had a superduty, 7.3 that ate batteries and switched to interstate and have never looked back. I love them. I have two friends that own shops, one is a dedicated race car prep place and the other is a multi make repair shop and they both sear by the generic world pac batteries for general car and truck use...But I just cant risk it on a SUV like ours that has such a high electrical draw with all the crap we can turn on just to drive down the street when its cold outside.

So yeah, back to interstate for me, the second this Denali shows a hint of hesitation.

I have also read about the apparent downfall of Optima batteries and would suggest you do some research on this.

North Star is the top of the battery game. Optima is not what they use to be and made in Mexico.

I need to sit down sometime and pick through the required OEM parts list to do this. If someone on the forum is a GM parts genius that person could put together a "Kit" list of what to buy...the we could use GM Parts Direct or something similar to put it all together.
