Parked in the car port ready for the day with the new look: The big knock sensor, harness, steering wheel position sensor, steering and suspension components and alignment job starts on Monday.

Yea, I gotta do a matte black BowTie because I am tired of reflections.

Open for legit recommendations. The paint looks great, the detail looks great, the tires and wheels look great, the Hellwig Sway Bar kits are great, the new oxygen sensors are great and the upcoming steering and suspension work will be great, the new brakes all around are great, the new knock sensors and harness will be great and so will the steering wheel position sensor and the new smoothed rear corner vents look great and the interior looks great and the exhaust work later will be great, all fresh fluids and belts, hoses, idler and tensioners all work great.

I am running out of things to throw money at on this thing. I need some suggestions. Not gonna go crazy with super charger or headers or special heads and cam but will eventually do the tune at BBP. There is a time, down the road, where I see myself putting in 3.73 gears though.

The other day my office was dead. I had this "Thin Blue Line" flag with Velcro on the back. I found the other side of the Velcro and did some two sided tape on the back of it and attached all at the passenger side dash.

I'd do the tune, if even just for the mechanical benefits. Not allowing the soft and sloppy transmission tuning to slowly kill off the trans alone would be worth it. Corvette servo, maybe the GM "long pin" if needed and a good tune would also add to the fun factor of just a casual commute.

Yep, agree. I will do the tune. Should I assume that if I do the gears later that the tune will have to be redone? I do have the Corvette servo installed already as well.

Now for that casual commute. I am a resident manager at a self storage facility. I live where I work. I am lucky to put 100 miles a week on my rig and when I do, I drive it pretty hard. Thanks for the recommendation though.

Just think @iamdub, if you had not already reminded me of the knock sensors habit of going bad and then me adding that to my list, you could have said that as a recommendation.

Definitely! This is a game changer.. I know you also said no headers, but since you love to drive it hard, it would be such a rewarding benefit...! Kooks, or ARH...? [emoji16][emoji631][emoji106]

I agree staying away from headers or boost is sometimes a good thing and in the case of this truck I'd skip them.

The bowtie looks great I do think the matte might look a tad better as well.

I'm kinda out of suggestions on what to do unless something fails. For example; if your G80 blow ups (unlikely in this truck) I'd then consider the 3.73s or 4.10s with a good posi.

Another example would be super minor engine upgrades if the motor were to fail such as. Flat top 4.8 pistons and a crazy mild low lift cam. The bump in compression and small cam would make the 5.3 feel more like a 6.0.

Other than that I think it's about perfect the z71s are great trucks already and for your uses I think you have it damn well dialed! :happy160::patriot:

Tune is a must tho!

Yep,with @gobrowntruck in this!!
Love that reflection. I can see what you think tho,the matte will fit with the finish on the grill quite nicely [emoji106]
