outlet in truck stays working even when truck is off

Just noticed it today,I went back out to my truck to grab my cell phone and it was still charging and the light on my charger was lit up.Why is the outlet still active,do I have to unplug phone charger everytime I park truck to make it so the battery doesnt drain?

Its not going to drain your battery over night. That little light will take at least 3 days I think on a truck battery. You can do a simple calculation to find out lol. using the current draw from the light and the voltage and something else i cant remember from the battery, but anyways...bottom line is no your not going drain the battery over night, or 2 nights for that matter. Provided your battery is good shape.

The battery is brand new but the truck sits for sometimes two weeks at a time,Is there anyway I can disable this feature,Ive never owned a car that has an outlet that doesnt tun off when the car is off!!

Most American made vehicles have constant 12v outlets. The imports usually have ignition powered outlets. Simple solution would be to remove the phone charger if it bothers you.
