I was looking for an over sized trans pan for our 07 Yukon with the 4L60E and can not find any one that has used one on this trans in this chassis.

Any one have any info on what will fit?

Looking at getting like 2-3qt more fluid in there to help with heat when towing.
And yes I already have a large trans cooler. Just looking to make sure that if I need to pull a trailer threw the hills in 100*+ temps that my trans dose not over heat on me.

I have really bad luck with automatic transmissions.

This will be the 5th vehicle we have had with an auto. The last 4 all blew there trans while we owned them. One of them 2 times. Need less to say I am not a fan of slush boxes.

So I want to do every thing I can to try and prevent from blowing this thing up.

Any suggestions are welcome.

And no we don't beat the crap out of them. Driver mod is not needed. We just seam to have really bad luck with them.

So far I ordered this trans cooler:
Tru Cool 4590.

And will be installing it soon.

And I am looking for an external trans filter kit right now.

I also intend to change the fluid and filter in a few weeks.

The deeper pan will help and Im sure it should bolt up with ease Unless there is some clearance issues Im not aware of on the newer trucks . Where did you find your bigger cooler at just wondering?

Thanks man.
That looks like a nice pan. And it comes with the filter to so that nice.
Little more expensive then I thought it would be so it will be a few weeks before I can order it.

The eBay link in OP is the exact trans cooler I ordered.
It's made by Long. Same company that makes the stock trans cooler if you have the HD tow option. It's made the same way as well, just a lot bigger.
The guys on the RV forums all love that trans cooler. That's why I bout it.

Any one used an over sized trans pan on a GMT900 / NNBS?

Still looking for some one that has actually bolted one on.

if you go with that cooler and an OEM deep pan I doubt you will have any heat issues. I tow more #### than I should, and I have never had heat issues with my trans. It has to do a lot with HOW you drive it through the hills in the heat. I would install a shift improver kit, that will help with allowing more flow to the cooler and a few other much needed tweaks. unless your towing all the time with your truck or live in some of the hotter States I don't think an aftermarket pan will give you any noticeable improvement.
I know when I was using my Dodges with the Cummins diesel I ran the biggest rear diff cover I could find, and I also ran the quick coolers they have for the 5 and 6spd trans. they replace the PTO covers with finned aluminum extensions. 4 extra Qt's for the trans and almost 4 Qts for the rear diff. I ran temp gauges for both my trans and diff and never saw temps that were worrying. I was also towing to 26k lbs everyday.

Drive smart, drop it out of OD and you will know when it's in it's happy spot.

I ordered the B&M remote trans filter kit.

I don't beat the crap out of this thing but I don't want to have to take it out of OD all time when I tow ether.

I will be towing a lot with this rig. And that's why I am so concerned about the trans. As I said I have never had good luck with automatics. And this will be the first one I have ever towed with.

I am even looking in to a 6l80e swap as an option. I just don't trust this 4l60e to not blow up.

I will be pulling a 6,000lb trailer with it often. And I may even pull it across the country in the middle of summer with truck and trailer loaded to the max more then a few times.
So it might be seeing 120* temps climbing mountains fully loaded pulling a 6 to 6.5k trailer.

What other options do I have to help the trans to deal with this?
I am looking at a programmer for the engine and trans as well as the larger trans pan. But if there are other options please let me know.

Thanks.
