Sorry, man. I didn't realize you meant, a long time.
That's not right. Make the installer correct it. Or, uninstall the alarm.
Either the alarm isn't compatible with your model. Or, the installer took short cuts.

I'll have to agree here. They did something wrong in the install of that alarm. I'd go back and shit on their desk. Make them correct what they did.. Test it BEFORE you leave.. Ensure everything is to your liking.. if not.. well don't accept it. They screwed it up, so they should fix it.

sounds like installer malfunction. he might have tapped into the wrong wire behind the headlight switch for the park lights. pull the headlight switch out and see if he did some connections behind there. if he did then undo them and repair any damage back to factory. if that solves the problem then he may have just connected to the wrong wire.

"He does it for a living", "Under the table"? Sounds like he doesn't want to admit he shouldn't have done it, in the first place. If he used an employers, tools, facilities, or parts without his employer's knowledge, he might not want to raise a stink. The 'small claims court' comment may have been to intimidate you. Do whatever you have to do, to get this guy to fix the problem. He effed it up, in the first place. If he's afraid of his employer finding out, you may have some leverage there. This guy needs to decide what's more important, his job or his reputation, or both.
