I have an 04 Denali. I was driving on vacation recently and lost power out of nowhere. I pulled over and it started back up but I could only drive a few get and it sputtered out again. Got towed to a mechanic. It started fine and they had no problem at all. No engine code either. Had no choice but to take it and drive it. Couple days later my check engine light came and on I took out to parts store to read code, p0336, bas crack shaft position sensor. So I bought one online and went through the extreme pain of trying to get the starter out to get to the sensor behind it. Found out I have an oil leak too I need to address but got the sensor swapped and it wouldn't start. Tried to redo it again and still no luck. Put the old sensor back in and it started fine. Getting a little frustrated now. I reset the engine light and was off for about four days and came back on. Not sure what I should do next aside from going back to a mechanic.

The oil leak could be causing issues with the crankshaft position sensor wiring and/or connector. Clean and thoroghly inspect that are of the wiring for breaks/loss of insulation/ etc. Clean out the connector and make sure the terminals in the connector are secure and do not back out when you press against them. Oil/petroleum based liquids can soften and break-down the rubber parts of the connector. Clean with brake cleaner and try to pull the wires out of the back of the connector. The wires should be tight and not give.
