Hello,

My 2007 SLT Yukon got a CEL yesterday that I scanned to be P0442 EVAP Small Leak Detected... I have cleared the code, checked the gas cap, it does seem OK to me. Didn't get the CEL again.

Not sure what to do next, but could this be related to the fact that I almost never get a straight refill at the gas station without having to do it manually? I meant that the gas pump always stops half way and I have to press the nozzle to let it continue refilling, and sometimes stops multiple times before the tank is actually full. This happens at different gas stations.

I'd bet it was just the gas cap not tightened down enough (make sure it clicks 3 or 4 times).
Mine stops early once in a while too (much worse on the camaro). I think it's just with some fast pumps causing pressure to build up faster than it can be vented. Or a kinked filler neck. At least you can pump your own, in my state it's against the law :emotions122: Real fun when the attendant walks away to fill 3 other cars and mine clicks off early.

Got that message when I had my Impala. It was the evap vent solenoid valve.

fldin,

I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue with your Yukon vehicle. Fuel cap, purge solenoid, vent solenoid, EVAP lines and other possible locations could cause this code. It is difficult to know without a diagnosis of the vehicle.

If this issue persists, I recommend consulting a certified technician for an official diagnosis.

Please keep us posted.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me.

99% sure that this was the issue (and that the valve was replaced) on my truck. Simple warranty fix.
