Been chasing this stupid P0442 small leak for months. It sets overnight usually after so many Small Leak Tests failed. But Sunday night it was accompanied by the P0452.
The FTP sensor provides the starting values for the Small Leak Test to perform. There is no leak between the Purge and Vent valves as I've tested that with the Tech-2.
The only thing connecting the FTPS with the EVAP canister is the EVAP Vapor Tube, I think. If that P0452 sets again, we're going to have to drop the fuel tank; UGHHHH!!!
Before we do that, I'll have to buy that smoke machine so we can see and knock all this out once and for all.
Does anyone know if it is important for the performance of the engine for the fuel tank to remain under pressure and sealed off from the atmosphere? If not, I'd rather toss all this junk into the dustbin and tune those CELs off forever and be done with it.
Rant over, so what was the point of writing all this? Well, anyone have this combination of codes before and solve it? Yeah, that's it.
