Been wanting a vise for a while now.

Bought this beast today.

7 inch with lifetime warranty.

Made in Taiwan. Not China.

It's crazy how expensive vises are. They seem so simple to cost so much. I guess you're paying for the durability and precision?

It's the amount of metal that you're paying for. It's over 30 lbs of iron used to make them

Hell, I don't know.

It seems almost like people collect them. Over on Garage Journal there is a whole thread like a million pages long about vises. People get a real ******* finding ones from he 50's LOL

I looked on Craigslist daily and tried to find something cheap, but people were wanting 300.00 from rusted vises form the 50-70s. I said screw it and bought this one.

I got this one and it is forged steel, I could have gone with cast iron Wilton but it was a little smaller for the same money.

Still not cheap for the metal
I guess so. This thing should last me forever though. Actually that us why so many of the old companies went bankrupt. Once you buy a vise I mean you just have it. It doesn't really go anywhere or get worn out technically.

I also been working on filling the missing sockets I had. Got my drawer near done.

Bought a lot of stuff made in USA and Taiwan. Brands like Stanley Proto, Williams, DeWalt, Gear Wrench. All this is in addition to the USA Craftsman I have form like 20 years ago....
