List it pp, detailed, for what the dealer would mark it up to for full resale dealer pricing. Let the fact it sells or doesn’t make your decision.

I found this handy little tool on cargurus.com. You can see the price trends for vehicles, and you can literally pick and chose what years you pick. It is all based upon asking prices, and yes we know asking is not the same as selling, BUT it gives you trends.

The link is on Chevy Tahoe, but you can change it to anything you want, Suburban, Yukon, etc... Check it out, I find it interesting to play with.

Well Man... I know the decision is wrenching for sure, I have struggled with the ideas like you have.. I bought my 12 burb with 97k 1.5 years ago, she is sitting at 121k now... I paid it off a year ago as of now... Back story I have had car payments 28 out of the last 20 years, so take this for what its worth.... So I financed a small amount and knocked it out quick... The first 10 months with no payment is amazing...I started looking around when she rolled 120k... looked at a Tahoe, few escalades, new yukons… All very nice vehicles, controls are nice in the new ones, but is it worth 25k difference in my driver now? Yeah less miles is nice, but I got tired of buying extended warranty on vehicles and put the money in the bank... 5k sitting collecting interest MY way, vs the "Warranty" way is a nice extra dinner a year with the family. 5k will cover anything... Motor, trans, axle, most everything that would go wrong.

My advice.. Take a year off, screw buying new man... 2 years lets that initial depreciation bomb drop fast... But think about it, you have a truck you ordered, your specifications, You have the wifes if you ever want to spice the drive up, but why not sock some money away, you can walk into the dealer in 2 years, with a gob of cash and your ride and walk out, owning a newer vehicle if its what you want but own it outright...
But Im at about double your mileage... You just threw down some change on great parts for yours... Get your money worth out of the parts...…. Cause no dealer will care about bilsteins on a vehicle... or extra goodies.

Drive it until it hits 97k miles then sell it trade it for a lightly used 2016-2018. Personally I’d drive it until you really got sick if it. How’s that mortgage payoff coming along? I’m not going to preach Dave Ramsey to you but “there is a big difference between making a lot money and having a lot of money/wealth”.

I have friends that make $600k/yr and they have money issues; mo’ money mo’ problems. I went from making $120k/yr to $70k/yr and I haven’t felt any different. I live that same lifestyle as I live like I make $30k/yr.

Save your cash for a couple years and payoff all short term bills, add to your investments, and pay down the mortgage. Use the rest as down payment for your next purchase.

Just my $0.02

I looked into this back in the winter. I knew I would need to put some money into my 900 - it needed ball joints and had started making a loud clunking noise over bumps in the road. It's only got 80k miles so I knew be able to get decent money for it in a private sale. Problem is, I can't find anything I actually want to replace it with, at any price. I looked at the newer Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade and the only one I like at all is the Escalade...but not enough to drop $50k on a 3-year-old one. Anything smaller in the GM stable is a car so no thanks. Looked at Grand Cherokees - too small. Looked at Wranglers - WAY too much money for the little bit you get. I came REALLY close to pulling the trigger on a new Silverado LT Trail Boss, but I couldn't go through with it because i'm just not a pickup truck guy at heart. In the end I decided to put some money into the 900 to renew the suspension and brakes, and add some updates to address the features that the newer trucks have that I do wish I had.

I'm going to wait until the next generation rolls around and see how I feel about it. If the new gen SUVs still don't move the needle then i'm going to have to just make the switch to something like a Wrangler or go the pickup route.

And I’ll bet the 3 year old rigs had almost as many miles as yours. IMO you made the right call and probably feel like your rig is a lot nicer and don’t forget......you don’t have a car payment.
