Paint correction process

I use ultimate compound and ultimate polish from megs. Which is the consumer version of 105 205

Just remember, anything "consumer" will not work half as well as their professional line. They purposely make it much less abrasive in case it gets in the hands of dumb consumers who would ruin their paint and sue the maker.... [emoji19]

I will have to disagree with this comment. Ultimate compound and ultimate polish are both actually very good products and can achieve comparable results to M105 and M205. The big difference with them, and especially the compound is that it is much easier to work with and has a longer work time and won't dry and dust as much as M105.

I finally got around to doing my Suburban after owning it since last fall. The paint was trashed from the previous owners.

While anyone is free to lend their own opinion (as my above statements are all my opinions), the consumer line vs the professional line is night and day... I've used both.... Any body shop will tell you the same... I never said the Ultimate line wasn't good... But it will NEVER compare to the results of the professional line products.... It's like comparing Pepsi to the supermarkets generic version... Sure it's wet, but it doesn't come close to tasting the same....

As for the M105 drying out and dusting, if you get to the point it's dry and dusty, you're doing it wrong..... You should be consistently spaying a light mist on your pad in between applications. You DONT want your pad to dry out at any time during the process... So if you have dust, you have a problem..........

Either way, the burban looks great! The CQ does a great job. I've always liked it's finish.
