What's the best way to paint the rear pillars the same color as the hoe?

Lightly scuff them up. Put in your dish washer (with out the heat for drying), clean them one more time by hand. Use some good plastic bond primer and then paint to color. 2 or 3 coats should do and seal with a clear coat. That's the way I do all my plastic painted parts.

Have a body shop do it.

Seriously. You should be able to get it done for $100 (give or take) and it will be done professionally. You can try ti yourself, spend money on sanding, prepping, paint, clear and if it doesn't match or comes out bad, a body shop will charge you extra to get the appliques back to good condition.

Unless you're skilled enough to do all that, it's easier for a professional to do it.
