I just picked up my Denali reserve on Friday. Over the weekend I noticed some sloppy paint work underneath the top of the liftgate and was wondering if anyone else has the same. If you open the liftgate, I'm talking about the area around the top hinges. On the left side there's a drip of paint and on the right side there's a line of extra paint. The clearcoat along the edge of the liftgate isn't smooth either. Everything visible from the exterior is great. This is just the area underneath the open liftgate, so it's not a huge deal. Is this an area where they had something holding the liftgate open for paint or did the paint booth just go crazy on mine?

Just underneath that black plastic trim is a body joint that gets seam sealer applied to it. It looks like on yours it wasn’t cleaned up very well before it went to paint.

Here’s those same two areas on mine for reference.

Ah, interesting. So it's not sloppy paint, but rather sealant that was on there when it went to paint. Thanks for that info and the pictures. I get a little OCD with things, especially after spending this much on a vehicle. I'll try to not let it bother me :)
