I would still color match the bowtie imo.

Cause it still looks to close to stock for me.

Lee this is very first time I'm gonna have to disagree with you this breaks my heart. But I love this gold bow tie on this one...

Did you scuff it first or just prime it? I have a 10 ltz and would like to do the entire factory grill inserts and chrome surround black. But, scuffing inside all the holes would be a booger. Thoughts?

I do body work for a living so its sprayed primer, PPG paint and cleared.

To do it right, you would want to scuff. If you want to black out the whole grille I would recommend buying an aftermarket one that is already black. Lots of guys on here have done that and are pleased. The time savings should justify the cost

Thanks. I haven't been successful finding a decent looking one on eBay. Is there a particular brand/style to look for that is the most popular?
