I am planning on painting my GMC Grill Emblem (front) the body color of the truck.

Question: Is it easy to remove the letters from the grill, or the grill itself in order for the vehicle not having to be at the paint shop when this does get worked on?

Thanks.

The entire emblem should just come off...it is held on by a a couple tabs or screws--just can't recall. Very easy to do.You will have the black base left on the grille where the emblem mounts to. When I sprayed my emblem black--I freshened up the base as well with a coat of paint.

Thanks Bud.

So does one access the mounting screwstabs from behind the emblem? Is there enough room to get to with the grill in its place?

Looking at your grill, I want to say it is a bit different from a Denali to my truck/Grill?
Thanks.

There may be a plastic cover that needs removed but yes you should be able to remove with grill in place.

Yep.....there is about a half dozen or so of those pushpin clips that hold the radiator cover down. Pull those and you can get your whole in there no problem--I'd do it while the truck is off though ;)

Without a tie at the very least.

Thanks Jason and Derek. With the engine off and no tie on, the front emblem came off as it was suppose to.

For future reference, NO screws, but clips/tabs. No cover or anything. Removed the radiator cover and from there it was very simple, just pushing the tabs to remove the Emblem.

At the paint shop it is.

Thanks again guys.
