the clear is the hardest layer to sand off. then just scuff the paint with a high grit sand paper. if u use rough paper it will leave scratches and show on the final paint job.

heres some info for you guys that want to know about prepping

if your going to seal the car before paint then you should do 320grit by DA
if you dont have to seal it, then do it to 400 grit by DA

if your hand sanding id reccommend something a little higher in grit because you may leave rough scratches by hand, but it is fine just takes longer

when prepping, try to knock off the clear if possible, if by hand you dont have to but the more clear/paint you sand off the better adhesion it will have

you do NOT have to take all the paint off unless you know what your doing i wouldnt do it

if you use a DA sander try not to angle it to sand out chips, keep it flat or you will have big bulls eyes in your new paint from uneven layers of paint sanded off in one area
