Painted my mirrors this weekend!

Taking my Hoe over to my dad's and, if he has enough paint (which he said he should) then we'll remove the mirrors and and paint the black textured plastic to sort of resemble the Escalade mirrors, except the top half will be chrome instead of the bottom.

Update: PICTURES BELOW.

Can't wait to see it. Are you going to sand or make the black plastic smooth first?

I just bought escalade mirrors, and am going to get them painted to match. I like the sounds of what you are doing. I may go that route instead once I see them.

That's cool! Did you wire the Escalade ones to fit the Denali yet or have you not received them? I'd get the Escalade ones myself if I could find someone to wire them for me.

But to answer your question, we removed them from the truck, cleaned them, scuffed them with a white scuff pad, and applied adhesion promoter. Then painted, and put a clear coat. They turn out smooth.

This is the result:

Oh and we did a little extra:

So overall I'm happy. :D

We were able to get the driver's side mirror on fine but the bowtie and passenger mirror need more time to dry or they'll smudge. I'll post a final picture or two of everything back together tomorrow. :)

I have a Denali, so the Escalade mirrors are plug and play I believe. Don't forget pics of the other side. I want to see how they look painted with the chrome on the top.

That would be cool if they worked. I heard that they don't, since they use the same computers and such as the standard Yukon/Tahoe. Hence why the Denali has same size Nav as Tahoe instead of Escalade.

If they work though, definitely post it here.

And I will have more pics up soon. :)
