I a wanting to paint my vent caps. I'm gonna use the duplicolor adhesion promoter and wondering if I need to scuff the caps before I apply the adhesion promoter. And if I do what grit should I use?

yes and follow directoins on the can. it will tell u. personally, your truck is so clean id have a shop do them. im trying to talk my wife into having ours done..but she says she likes the black. dunno why. but she does. so i might get them done in gloss black so they match the glass better. i have access to a neighbor who paints stuff for me for free or darn near it at his body shop. :)

Thanks man. Tell her it'll improve your gas mileage, lol. I already bought the adhesion promoter, paint, and clear coat but haven't read the instructions yet. I figured I'd try to paint one and if it turns out good I'll do the other, if not I'm only out $22.

Those OE caps look horrible in black. Colormatched looks even worse. You see all the holes in them. Either get some Street Scene smooth caps or some Esky ones. I have Esky ones and to me that is one of the best things I have done to my truck.

I like the color matched oe caps. They add a lil something to the rear end. The smooth caps a kinda plain for me. Thanks though.
slightly scuff them with some wet or dry sandpaper...
Thanks Tracy.

wow, $60 is pretty cheap. I thought it would be alot more. If I can find a similar deal, I might have to consider that.

Thanks Ryan. I just noticed you're an hour south of me. I didn't know you could get stuff painted for that cheap. Since I already have the paint and already sanded my caps I think I'll give it a shot. If it doesn't turn out well I will search for a pro. Wish me luck.
