includes removing power steering pully which is a bittch. but good luck!

Service and Repair REMOVAL PROCEDURE

  1. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement in Powertrain Management.
  2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the clips, and move the harness aside.
  3. Remove the air cleaner intake duct for access to the right valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Powertrain Managements.
  4. Remove the bolts and oil level indicator tube bracket. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement
  5. Remove the AIR check valve (crossover), if so equipped. Refer to Sec Air Injection Check Valve/Pipe Replacement in Powertrain Managements.

  1. Remove the PCV tube.

  1. Remove the following components for access to the left valve rocker arm cover:

    • The Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor, if equipped, and lay the A/C compressor aside. Refer to Compressor Replacement.
    • The EGR valve inlet pipe. Refer to EGR Valve Replacement in Powertrain Managements.
    • The PCV and the hose.
    • The vacuum brake booster pipe, if equipped, and move it aside
    • Remove the valve rocker arm cover and the gasket. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal (Right) and Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation (Left).
    • Clean all traces of old gasket from the valve rocker arm cover and the cylinder head. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Clean and Inspect
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

  1. Install the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation (Left) or Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal (Right).
  2. Install the components as follows for the left valve rocker arm cover:

    • The air conditioning compressor. Refer to Compressor Replacement.
    • The EGR valve pipe. Refer to EGR Valve Replacement in Powertrain Managements.
    • The PCV and the hose
    • The vacuum brake booster pipe
    • The AIR check valve (crossover) pipe, if equipped. Refer to Sec Air Injection Check Valve/Pipe Replacement in Powertrain Managements.

  1. Install the components as follows for the right valve rocker arm cover:

    • The air cleaner intake duct.
    • The crankcase ventilation hose.
    • The oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement.

  1. Install the wiring harnesses to the valve rocker arm cover clips.
  2. Install the spark plug wires. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement in Powertrain Management.

i have 2 breathers and 1 pcv valve. not sure how exactly the vortecs have the setup. but heres a preview. red goes well with the wires and all the other msd garbage.



stupid money pit.. ahh

looks good on the engine was it a hard install? and i thought msd was good stuff? it doesnt look to hard to install

the TBI motors (95 year) is pie to install. dont even need to move anything. the vortecs look to have some more stuff hovering over the covers.. all it is, is remove and replace stuff. nothing to hard if your kinda mechanic savvy guy. youll be fine..

msd is good stuff, but this trucks aggravating me tonight.. lol
