I traded in my 2002 ** for a 2010 Tahoe LTZ with the URPA. Being a creature of habit, the first thing i purchased was a Go Rhino hitch step to protect the truck from behind. http://www.autobarn.net/gorhinunhit.html

After installing the new hitch step, i noticed a an error message pop up "Park Assist Blocked ." Upon further investigation, i realized that the hitch step extended past the perimeter of the rear parking sensors which explained the message.

Because of acting before thinking, i was forced to return the hitch step. Is there a hitch step that does not interfere with the parking assist sensors. I am especially curious about the bully CR-600.

I had the same problem you r experincing when I got my 08 Yukon. I had the large one and got the the warning chimes when I put the truck in reverse. I purchased the step and installed it a few days later. My wife was in the hospital and went to see her. The parking lot was full so I had to valet my truck. Later that day got the truck back and noticed that the step was damaged. The kid that backed my truck up rellied on the back up sensors and didnt see the standpipe sticking out from the wall right inline with the step. As soon as I got home I installed the bigger one and the next day went to the dealer and had him disconect the warning system. I have the large one on not for me to worry about backing in to things but I live in New York and people around here cant drive so I use it as a people bumper. I have allready had 2 people bump me at stop lights cause they were texting or on the phone. Only thing that happened to the the bar was a few scratches there hoods were dent and scratched to hell. Just recently I had the head unit replaced and went with a 6inch touchscreen and had the guy install a rear camera maybe that might help if you really need to see back there.

All In all I would keep the big one on cause it prevents damage done to your Bumper from idiots that cant drive.

I also live in NY. My wife always gives me crap for insisting on sitting next to the window when we go out to eat. I keep my finger on the remote and sound of warning beeps when i see cars trying to squeeze in behind me. I spend more time worrying that somebody will hit the back of the truck than enjoying my meal.

i will take your advice and have the dealer disconnect the sensors. The camera will work just fine. thanks -sam

Why would you have them do that if there is a button on the dash specifically made to turn the sensors off?

People. :Boo:
