parking brake cable replacement

my parking brake cable broke and was wondering how hard it is to replace? can I do it without a jack or a lift?

Can you fit under the truck without a jack or lift? Depends on that and if rear portion that attaches to rear from rear brakes is bad, then i would pull the wheels. You can prob get away with the first section from cab out without jack but after that....

Kinda depends on the height of your truck and whether you want to work comfortably or not. I can't even get my head under mine but besides I like to get it as high as possible so my arms have room to work. Oh, and if you jack it up please use jackstands if you'll be under it. It's hard to bench press an SUV.

You shouldn't need to lift the truck to replace that first cable. Everything should be along the frame on the driver's side.

I replaced the middle cable (the one that has the T at the end) in my 02 a few months ago. I had a hell of a time pulling it back enough to get it into the first cable. Ended up using a ratchet strap to pull the T towards the front of the truck and had to pull it so hard to get enough slack that I broke the ratchet strap lol (cheap HF junk anyways)

Edit:
The fact that I live in the New England rust belt probably has something to do with that :Big Laugh:
