When I went to fix leak issue, found that morons that went into the door destroyed the receiver (female) part that the window controls clip into (see picture below, white part). Seems like it can be replaced. Anyone know if this can be ordered at GM?

They had just glued the whole thing back in. they also broke the front part. Evidently there is a screw... contrary to the youtube video that shows a guys just pulling it out with clips front and rear. Though i think i can epoxy that part back together.

2004 tahoe z71 in case it matters...

that part is non serviceable! You have to buy the whole armrest! I'd suggest bailing wire or some other invention to hold the cover back on. a new armrest is about 175 new from GM. You may buy a used one and paint to match.

Figures. That sucks. Guess it is time for a trip to junkyard, or a temp fix as you suggest.

just put the control panel back on and with door panel off tie a wire around the metal clip that would have clipped into that plastic. Then wrap the wire around one of those 9/32 bolt heads that are holding the arm rest in place. People think these 03+ panels are like 99-02 panels and they are not!
