I replaced my stock radio (not speakers)in a 96 Tahoe and everything works except the passenger door speakers. It has the three separate speakers, foward on door, rearward on door and on the armrest. If I put the old unit back in it still doesn't play through the passenger door.
The new radio also seems to get hot to the touch on the metal case.( It could just be because its 108 today)
Thanks

there is a wire on the new head unit that triggers external amps attach it to the pink wire on the chassis side of vehicle that was attached to old radio. it triggers an on-board factory amp that drives some of the speakers.

:welcome:

Tried the pink wire thing. Didn't do anything. Any other possiblities. I was hoping ti get the door panel off and try to connect a different speaker in case maybe the speaker was bad. If the volume is turned up enough I can get some sound out of the tweeter.
Thanks

TRiewd the pink wire to the remote wire. It didn't do anything. I'll try again tomorrow. I don't understand why all the other speakers are working just not these on the passenger door.
thanks

yea check out the cig lighter fuse like sun said, if its still not working after trying both of those then the factory amp is no good. just run your own wires to those speakers
