Finally got the radio and harnesses all working. Nice to have all my door speakers and tweeters working for once. Unfortunately, the factory console amp/sub no longer works now. i have a remedy for it thats been sitting in my garage. But if i do that, then you know how it goes...might as well replace and upgrade all the factory mids and highs while i am at it. For the time-being, it's just nice to have a decent stereo.

This lil JVC does more then i will ever use it for. Got all the basics, CD,Bluetooth,USB,Charge,Aux etc.. Pretty cool that you can match the LED right to your own dash. You can pretty much infinitely change any section of this to display any color. Or have it cycle etc..Nice lil stereo for under $100

Coming along nicely! That stereo looks rad! Backup cam is a must have. I'll never not have one again. Hahah. My best friends parents have a big gated off property, and I'm there all the time detailing their trucks. In fact I did all the trucks yesterday that just went to Wyoming and back. Lol. He and I programmed one of my home link buttons to their gate, it wa dos nice to just pull up and hit the button. Haha. His mom was like its about damn time you got that handled! Hah

Love the look of that head unit, how much space is back there does this just fit in or to go any deeper you'd need to cut the bracket? Gonna add this head unit to my list

yeah, handy dandy is the Homelink. i wasn't even thinking about the backup cam when i ordered mine. i'm sure i'll come up with something down the line. its super hard to see at night backing up in mine. plus i'm old as hell and my eyesight is ****

i didn't have to cut any of the hard plastic / metal. it's a snug fit. Hell i'm surprised all those harnesses and adapters and wires all fit back in there. it was a lot of spaghetti!

Dude I'm young and my eyes are crap haha. Yeah those home links are nice. The backup cam is perfect for me because I tow a lot and my XL is so hard to back up with length. But with my camera, it's perched on the bumper step pads right in the middle, and it looks right down On my tow package. Which is really nice. Helps tremendously.

Does your Homelink have horrible range to the rear of the truck, but great to the front, too?

I was amazed that I didn't need to cut anything when I put my Pioneer AVH-X391BHS in my '00 Yukon XL dash (other than get the '03+ radio tub and dash bezel).

I agree with needing a backup camera for these trucks... just way too long and too dark out behind.
I'm still trying to find a good and inexpensive camera that I like.

I'm not sure if the '03 still has the factory amp behind the glove box like the older trucks, but if it does, I used this harness (after re-wiring it) to bypass it so the radio drives the speakers directly. http://a.co/53xFs7O
If you google some combination of metra number and factory amp bypass, you should find the instructions on what pins to swap.
