I figure it's doable but a pia. Plus trying not to get paint sprayed into the tow/haul switch too.
Tape, tape and tape. I've sprayed(dyed)complete steering wheels and airbags on Mercedes and Infinitis just taping off stuff. Huge pita taping up Mercedes and Infiniti airbag emblems. I always use 3m tape and cut around the emblems using an exacto knife.

I'm good on taping, some would say the best lol. But I just don't know how to tape buttons without getting wet paint on the inside of the buttons on the circuit board. Or am I thinking too much into it ?

Yeah I just taped off the whole end. But the up and down button in the middle of the shifter is a PITA!
Chase, dude-That's easy. Put some tape on it, and ever so lightly, but firm enough, go around the edge of the button with an exact knife. It'll trim around the button really nice and leave the tape where it needs to be. I do stuff like this all the time. Sometimes im prepping a steering wheel over 1 hr for a 10 min job, but the end result is totally worth it.
