Nice! Another two tone. Similar layout to mine as well. Very impressive results coming from a garage. After a wetsand and buff it'll be flawless. By the way, where did you hear the 30 day period before wet sanding? I suppose it could vary according to the clear used but that seems excessive. From my experience, with the cars that we didn't bake, we wouldn't ever wait more than a week tops (including my own). Anyway, congrats on a job well done man

Sorry pete but you need some exhaust tips now or spray it hh black....;)

haha, you ain't lyin' man. my buddy was like, "spray your tip blue!" i was like huh? hell nah, that would look weird!
I swear after i apinted it, i was like, look at that ugly ass exhaust pipe now! i swear i barely noticed it a week ago. It definitely needs a tip. or more. My daughter got birthday and christmas around the corner i doubt i will make any more purchases this year till i get her covered :)

ahh, nice man! awesome. LEt's take a shot together. ha.
i remember seeing your profile pic around here. Your paint looks so candy and vibrant.
Did you change your wheels? and, are you a painter?

i havent painted for like 10 years. So maybe i am stuck on old school wetsanding rules. Hell i was surprised how fast the paint flashed when i was spraying! i don't even think i will have the energy to wetsand this thing anytime soon unless you are saying it will be some type of problem if i wait?

and most importantly.. Cheers! :happy160:

Edit: i just found your old build thread. Badass!

Wow Pete. You sure know how to lay down the paint. It looks show room perfect!!!!! Your a killer painter. And I love you envisions. Watching them come to life is awesome also.

Tfy ave ! Yeah I could handle that , but I would feel for the rest of the neighborhood lol.

ha, thanks man. i am far from professional and it's definitely not showroom perfect. But it is great considering what i used and where i did it. I appreciate the kind words, Chris.

Thanks man. And yeah, I've been through multiple sets of wheels. Really wanting to get something nicer but the tahoe isn't as high on the priority list anymore due to college. No I'm not a painter, but I worked for my stepdad (who is an extremely talented painter/auto rebuilder) for about 4 years. I haven't actually painted anything in a couple years now so I'm a little out of practice too lol.

As far as the wet sanding, no, there's definitely no problem with you waiting. It won't hurt anything. I was just saying you could get away with doing it sooner if you wanted to.

Budget painting is umm “fun” until you have to cut and buff.

I took a two year hiatus due to this repair.

And then tackled this hail damaged Honda and havent been back. Lol

Dude. i just saw a different thread of yours.. You sold yours and got it back?!

whoa whoa. hold up. we have more in common than you think.
So that last vehicle i painted was my OBS GMC Sierra. And out of every vehicle i ever owned, thats really the only one i ever regretted selling. I lost my job and had to let it go for money. I put so much money into it and sold it for pennies. It was heart breaking. Later i even tried to buy it back but they never replied to my emails. My Ex even said she saw it on the freeway in Phoenix one day.

So to make a long story short. I wanted to pay homage to that truck by doing one a little better and on a beefier platform which ultimately had me eyeballing a Denali to buy. And here we are today.

As you can tell.. Top truck was my Sierra from back in the day. I painted it BMW Black on Nissan Daytona Blue.

Damn! Definitely some similarities lol. I got rid of mine when I started college because I thought I needed something better on gas to travel home and back on the weekends. I ended up getting an Acura TL which I did a lot of work to as well, and loved it, but I definitely regretted getting rid of the tahoe, especially after spending so much time and money on it, and not getting to enjoy it very long. It's a bad feeling knowing something you poured so much heart into is out there, not knowing if it's even being taken care of. So yeah I eventually tracked it back down, which was a difficult task lol. It definitely wasn't babied, and looked a little rough when I got it back, but I knew I wasn't going back home without it haha.

Here's a pic of the TL just for ***** n gigs. Ended up repainting it too after doing some fender/quarter widening

awesome stories. i always loved Acura's too. Had a bulletproof Integra back in the 90's. It was the first car i ever painted. Painted it Lincoln Mark VIII Deep Evergreen Metallic. Don't laugh, this style was fresh in 1994 :)

i have always wanted to do a 1995 Legend Coupe LS 6spd. Such a big sexy coupe... one day i will
